Respite Care 

Our Trial Stay/Respite Program is ideal for individuals seeking short-term accommodations for respite, recovery, or to experience retirement living. The program is offered at a daily rate, with a minimum stay of 21 days and a maximum stay of 90 days. We offer four levels of respite care: Independent, Minimal Care, Direct Cueing + Minimal Care or Full Assistance. The daily rate is determined based on an initial assessment conducted by our Care Services Manager prior to admission.

We want everyone to feel at home at our residence, which is why each guest has a fully-furnished, private suite equipped with a kitchenette including a refrigerator and microwave. The following amenities are included in the daily rate;

  • 24-Hour Staffing for Resident Care or Non-Care Needs
  • State of the Art Call System for Immediate Assistance
  • Three Meals Served in Dining Room Daily With Alternate Options
  • 24-Hour Access to Self-Serve Hospitality and Refreshment Area
  • Landline Phone Service, Cable Television and Wi-Fi
  • 24-Hour Security Monitoring
  • Reception/Concierge Services
  • Weekly Housekeeping and Suite Cleaning
  • Weekly Bed Linen Change and Laundering
  • Weekly Personal Laundry Service
  • Unlimited Access to Scheduled Recreation and Leisure Programs
  • Scheduled Transportation for Local Outings
  • Reasonable Repairs and Maintenance of Appliances and Fixtures



RESPITE CARE LEVELS

Our respite levels are determined based on the required level of care. The appropriate level is assigned by our Care Services Manager after conducting an in-person assessment. The type of care included in each level is listed below

Level 1: Independent

  • Standard Medication Administration at Wellness Centre
  • Checking In On Resident to Ensure They Are Safe and Well
  • Toileting Cueing Every Two Hours or As Needed
  • Reminding Residents of Designated Shower Days (If Applicable) and Preparing Clean Towels
  • Directing or Cueing Residents to Meals and Activities

Level 2: Minimal Care

  • All Services Included in Level 1
  • Daily Administration of Eye/Ear Drops or Puffers
  • Minimal AM/PM Care; Assisting with Hearing Aids, Applying Lotion, Laying Out Clothing
  • One Bathroom Garbage Pickup Daily
  • Assisting Resident with Shower Tasks and Partial Dressing
  • Escorting Resident To and From All Meals and Activities

Level 3: Direct Cueing + Minimal Care

  • All Services Included in Level 1 and 2
  • Administration of Diabetic Medications or Medicated Patches
  • Undressing and Redressing, Brushing Teeth and Changing Brief
  • Urinary Incontinence Assistance, Including Catheter Care and One Bathroom Garbage Pickup Daily
  • Assisting Resident with Full Shower and Complete Dressing
  • Fully Relying on Staff to Get To and From Meals and Activities

Level 4: Full Assistance

  • All Services Included in Level 1, 2 and 3
  • Delivery of Night Medications to Resident Suite
  • Assistance with All AM/PM Care, Including Dressing From Head to Toe
  • Bowel Incontinence Assistance, Including Peri and Ostomy Care, and One Bathroom Garbage Pickup Daily
  • Completing Shower with Full Assistance
